How new iOS Keynote helps you make even greater presentations, sharpiepresents15

iPhone & iPad only
Since 2010 when the first iPad was launched, I have worked on an iPad & then iPhone only. No laptop or desktop. It has been amazingly easy, especially as the work i do is presentations. I will show you how these devices are dreams to present on, especially as they are always there with you so you can present at any opportunity. The presentation app i use is Keynote & here’s 3 ways it just got better.

Drawing
Can’t afford excel
The first is drawing. Drawing is a great way to make your presentations more interesting, more personal & more informative. I even used to draw the whole presentation including charts. That certainly got a response, with one audience member once asking if my company couldn’t afford excel! Apple has clearly realized the value of drawing & is adding it everywhere including keynote.

Screenshots
The other day someone asked me how I draw on my charts & was surprised to see how easily you can on an iPhone. You just screenshot the chart & then use the drawing tools to draw arrows or even write what you want then save the photo, which you can then add to your presentation. He tried to do it on his android but couldn’t....

Now keynote
Now drawing is easier, faster & more useful. In Keynote you go tot the ➕menu, choose drawing, choose your pen & color & draw on your slide. You could simply add an arrow to make the chart a bit more dramatic. There’s another benefit. Your new drawing is an object which you can move or animate in Keynote. It’s super useful.

Curved charts
I’m in finance
I work in finance, so my presentations have a heavy financial event, maybe yours do to. This means there’s often quite a few charts. You probably use charts too. One of the great things about Keynote is it naturally makes everything simpler & simpler charts help get your message across better.

More chart options
Of course you want your charts to look good & in each new version of Keynote the chart options get better & better. We have had more vibrant colors which helps when you’re presenting. We’ve had interactive charts, like moving bubble charts which add movement which increases interest & excitement.

Rounded & smoothed
In he latest keynote update you can make the charts rounded & smoothed. For example with a column chart, you can now round the edges of the column. With line charts, you can make the lines curved instead of straight. This gives the charts a more graphic look which makes them look amazingly professional.

Slide master
Constant copy paste
If you make a lot of presentations, you might have come across this issue. You want your presentation to have an identity maybe a corporate one. On iPad & iPhone this used to mean you had to keep copying & pasting the corporate elements to each new slide. Like logo, website address etc.

Was on MacBook
What you needed was a master slide. Apple Keynote did have this option on the laptop & desktop edition, but it wasn’t available in the mobile version, not even on iPad. This was frustrating. The last time I made a presentation, it was particularly so because having to add the elements manually messed up the other quite complex parts of the slide when formatting them over the top.

Now on mobile
Now mSter slides are available on the iPad & iPhone. To do it you simply click on the blank slide, select the edit master option & add in whatever you want. Loke company name, logo & website address. Then every time you want to add a new slide press ➕ & the master is there. With the elements fixed they don’t move around when you are formatting your slide content.

iPhone only?
When I first started mobile presentations, it was using the iPad. Now it’s both iPhone & iPad. I am surprised to say that the new features are making. It increasingly easy for you to use iPhone only. As this is the more popular device it means more of you can do ever greater presentations. Which means you can be much more productive which is 10X great!
