Time for training, Sharpiepresents26

⏰ 3 minute read
Training
Starting next week, a new venture, taking ‘7 Steps’ on the road to an office near you. A couple of friends let me try this last & earlier this year as I was working out how to write ‘7 Steps’. Now the ebooklet is finally finished we will do it officially. I can come & give you & your team two hours of training. Here’s a taste of how it will go,

Present
Why
The first part will be a general discussion about presenting & presentations, starting with why present? This will run through my own personal story plus stories about some of the great presenters & how they were able to have an impact on the world. I’m sure you can imagine who might be on that list.

What
Then a look at what a presentation is, what it means to present & what the 3 meanings of the word ‘present’ are. What are the kinds of things which you should present & how the concept of what a presentation Is & who can give a presentation has so dramatically changed over the years.

How
Then a look at some of the different ways in which you can make a presentation. The basic formats & different types of presentation & when & where you should use each one of them. Plus an introduction to the math of presentations; the use of numbers to present & which ones work best in which circumstances.

7 Steps
Theme
Then on to the second section where we will go through all of the ‘7 Steps To Giving A Great Presentation’. Starting with how to come up with your theme, this will include ideas on how to do research & Brainstorm until you find the exact point you wan to get across to your audience.

Content
Then we will move on to how you should produce your content. Making the outline for your presentation, filling it in & writing the script, getting your data into a presentation format like an exciting chart; making & adding your own media whether it’s a photo or a short video or both.

Prepare
Next will be preparing for the presenting itself. Here we will look at what kind of equipment you will need to make your presentation. Then how to practice & iterate your presentation to make it perfect. Then what things you need to do to have a great success when you finally go live

Tech
iPad only
The 3rd section will be on using technology for your presentation. Starting with the story of how I went from physical slides to laptops to my dream device & the greatest presentation tools ever invented, the iPad & iPhone. Then perhaps surprisingly how I’ve gone back to paper again.

Apps
Then a look at the apps which you can use to help make your presentation. These includes how to use spreadsheets to help you focus in on the data to get your point across, what apps you can use for writing & what apps you can use to create media on your phone. Finally the apps to create the slides & presentation itself.

Freestyle
Lastly we will look at some more free style techniques. How to do tiny presentations on the move or ways in which you can dive deeper into your subject right in the middle of a larger presentation like going off script. These more advanced techniques can add extra power & persuasion to your presentations.

How can I help?
I’m going to perform the first of these training sessions on Monday, so wish me luck. Hopefully you’ve now gotten an idea of what we can work on together & if you’d like me to come & pass on this information & my experiences to your team, let me know & we can schedule a time.

Be a great presenter!
